B&Q - Ad-Lister Connection guide

B&Q - Ad-Lister Connection guide

I. How can you start using B&Q with Ad-Lister?

B&Q comes as an additional integration into your Ad-Lister account, please contact our support team to learn about the pricing.
Please note that you have to be authorised by B&Q to use the integration

II. How to connect Ad-Lister with your B&Q platform once activated?

Step 1. Create an API token in B&Q

Generate an API key

1. Once logged in to the Mirakl back office, in the top right corner, click on your user name
2. Click on the API Key tab
3. Click on Generate a new key
4. Click on Validate

After clicking on Validate, Mirakl will generate a store API key.

Getting your API key

If you have a store API key generated already
1. Log in to the Mirakl back office, click on your user name in the top right corner.
2. Click the API Key tab
3. Click Copy to clipboard

Once you have the API key copied to the clipboard, you can then proceed to Step 2.

Step 2. Add the B&Q platform details in Ad-Lister

Once you have set up the API key, please follow these steps:
1. Log in to your Ad-Lister account and click on Platforms in the top menu
2. Click on the Add button under the B&Q platform

3. Give your B&Q platform a familiar name and paste in the API key that you have generated on B&Q into the API key field:

4. Once you've added the details, click on Save and Ad-Lister will test the connection.

III. Mapping

1. Mapping the "Common Product Defaults"

Once connected to the B&Q platform, you can add values to the most common product defaults using Ad-Lister so you don't have to add the details on a product level:

After clicking on the Common product defaults link, you will be able to add values that will be defaulted to all of your B&Q products.

2. Mapping the Category Specific fields

On B&Q, similar to eBay and Amazon, you can find required fields specific for each category.
After clicking on the Category specific fields mappings, you will be able to select a category to map from the drop-down list:

Once you have selected the category, you will be able to map the category specific B&Q fields to fields that already exist in Ad-Lister, such as eBay Item Specific fields, or you can add a default value to the fields:

Please note that the products must have the Item Specifics that you select for the mapping available on the Item Specifics section.

IV. Preparing the products for posting to B&Q

1. Assigning the B&Q Category to the products:
On the Products page, you will be able to Bulk add B&Q categories to products by clicking on Platform Actions and selecting Assign B&Q Category.

2. Once you have selected the desired category, click on Assign.
3. After assigning a B&Q Category to the products, you will be able to view the B&Q Specifics - that are related to that B&Q category when you edit a product.

4. You can then click on B&Q in the Status column and you will be able to see all the Category Specific Details (which are required details)  and the Common Details (which are optional) . You can add in the product details and then proceed to the next step.

5. B&Q pricing - you can add the B&Q specific prices within the product details.

V. Posting a product to B&Q

After going through the steps mentioned above, you will be able to list your products on to the B&Q marketplace following these steps:

1. On the Products page, click on Platform Actions
2. Then select Post/Revise on B&Q and click on Post&Revise

This will send the product information to B&Q:
Please note that:
- It can take 10-15 minutes for B&Q to update the status (Failed or Posted and Processing) of a product after posting
- It can take from 4 to 10 hours until B&Q processes the product posting and create in on the backend of B&Q

Product Listing Statuses:

Product Sent to B&Q but it has an error - Red B&Q logo on the product
Product Sent to B&Q successfully and it is being processed - Grey B&Q logo with a pending icon on it
Offer Sent to B&Q but with an error -Red B&Q logo with a red check label
Offer Sent to B&Q  successfully - Orange B&Q logo
Ad-Lister automatically checks for successfully posted products every 3 hours and it posts an offer for them automatically.

VI. Ad-Lister - B&Q General Data Layers

Data Layers (product information priority)

  1. Top Level Layer - B&Q Specifics page within the product details

  1. Middle Layer - B&Q Category Specific Mappings

If Ad-Lister cannot find the information to post the product to B&Q on the B&Q Specifics page, then it will use the data from the Category Specific Mappings

  1. Lower Layer - Common Product Defaults

If Ad-Lister cannot find the information needed to post a product to B&Q in the Top and Middle Layer, it will use the Common product defaults to get the values.
